Easton - four months

Where does the time go? Babies change so fast. Easton is now 18 pounds. Wow! He's already rolling over (which isn't all it's cracked up to be...) He rolls over onto his tummy and then cries until someone helps him back over to his back. Then within minutes he is back over on his belly and crying again. He does this over and over all day long. He's smiling now. And I think I heard his first laugh just a couple days ago. Dallon was being silly for him and he just loved it. He is so much fun.

Weekend at Jaron and Em's

Jaron and Emily introduced our family to frisbee golf. A fun game if you haven't played yet. It's free too, except for the cost of lost frisbee's - and you can bank on losing a few. Especially if you're rookies (like the haley family). We need to practice up and challenge the Sullivan's to a rematch.

Jaron, Emily, Spencer and Mikey

This picture of my brother Jaron and I was taken after church on sunday. He is such a classy guy. I don't remember the last time we got a picture of the two of us together... so this is fun to have.
Five boy cousins - so happy to be together. When we got back home after that weekend with them, Dallon said: "Mom, I wish we were still at Jaron and Emily's house. That was fun!" Dawson was bummed to have to leave too. So I reminded them that we get to go camping with them in three weeks. Dawson said: "Yay!!! I love Spencer and Mikey!"

bronchialitis

Easton has been wheezing bad since last weekend. It was a little scary worrying if he could breathe well enough. I took him to the doctor and he has bronchialitis. So we are doing breathing treatments with a nebulizer three times a day. Dallon helped me with a treatment. I really appreciate all that Dallon does to help with his baby brother.

Easton rolled over for the first time a week ago. Now, he has mastered it! He is busy all day long practicing his new trick. He is so happy with himself.

Happy 9th Birthday Dallon!

Dallon's birthday was on April 14th. I had so much fun making this cake for him. I really wanted him to have a baseball cake since he chose to go to a missions baseball game for his party. We celebrated at home before the game. I didn't let him see the cake until party time... he loved it!

Dallon blowing out the candles.

Dallon opening one of the presents from us. We gave him a nerf gun and the game Blokus.

I started to make my cake and Dawson got a bright idea to make one for Dallon too. He made this "cake" all on his own. It's corn flakes, frosted shredded wheat, and sprinkles in a bowl with candles. He was so proud to give it to Dallon. The picture next to it was Dawson's gift to Dallon. Dawson came down from his room with this gift. It was so sweet of him. The thing you have to know is that these things are Dawson's most prized possesions... it was very touching.

We had a ball at the Missions baseball game. Our seats were front row behind the dugout. We ate dogs and peanuts. We bought Dallon one of their team baseball's for his collection. The boys also got these batting helmets because they loved them. Dallon and Dawson thought that ballopeno (the green guy in this pic) was totally awesome!

Riding With Pappy

Recently, on a trip to Stephenville, Dawson and Easton had a chance to ride horses with Pappy. It was definately the highlight of the trip - especially for Dawson. He loves horses so much. He tries to get a ride every trip back. He really enjoys that time with his Pappy. This was Easton's first time for a ride. (three and a half months old) No pics of Dallon riding. He was much too busy running around with Banner and Stetson.

Saturday's work

Just a normal saturday here - yardwork to do. The boys do the yardwork with Aaron every Saturday during the summertime. Aaron trains them young. Dallon has been mowing the lawn ever since we bought this home (2 years now). He does a great job. Dawson is really eager to help too. He loves wearing gloves. He likes to weed and fill his wheelbarrow. Today, Dallon came in the house with a cut. He came upstairs to my room where I was rocking Easton. He got out the first aid kit on my bedroom floor to doctor the cut and we started talking. He spent a lot of time cleaning the cut, looking for the neosporin, and finding just the right bandaid. I didn't think much of it. Until... he said: "Dad's probably finished up my mowing. I know Dad and he'll just finish it up if I do something like this."

guess how much i love you?

The boys and I play the - I love you this much... game. We have the book "Guess How Much I Love You". It's a really cute book that I read to my boys alot when they were tiny. This game first started with Dallon and I when he was around four and it's been going on for years. Now, Dawson has joined in and on nights like tonight he is the one starting it up. This is how the conversations go...

dawson says: "I love you down to the floor and up to the sky"
mom says: "I love you all the way around the world"
dallon says: "I love you around the galaxy"
dawson says: "I love you how big as an airplane and rocket is"
mom says: "I love you to the moon and back"
dallon says: "I love you as fast as cheeta's can run"
dawson says: "I love you 2000" (whatever that means)
mom says: "I love you as fast as cars can drive"
dallon says: "I love you as fast as a falcon can fly"
dawson says: " I love you as big as a house"
mom says: "I love you more than all the stars in the sky"
dallon says: "I love you more than everything"
dawson says: "I love you as fast as spongebob's boat can go"
mom says: "I love more than all the money in the world"
dallon says: "I love you so much it's as hot as the earth's core"
dawson says: "I love you how big as you are"
mom says says: "I love you all the way across the ocean"
dallon says: "I love you as the fastest bird"

It always ends with Dallon saying something like "I love you a million times more than anybody says".

day trip to the beach

We took a day trip to Corpus Christi Beach. Our family loves the ocean - we never get sick of it. We make several trips each year. So, when Grandma Francke came on a trip to see us we were so excited to take her. We've been to the ocean with her before and she is so much fun. She's like a kid herself. She walked the beach with Dallon collecting seashells, built sandcastles with Dawson, and played football like a pro. She is one fun grandma! This was Easton's first trip to the ocean. It was fun seeing him in his new suit and hat. He wasn't crazy about it - the wind and all. It was early in the season and the water was a little colder than we expected. In fact, us adults didn't even strip down to our swim suits. Grandma really wanted to boogie board - maybe next time it'll be warmer. We spent the day playing football, building sandcastles, and having a picnic on the beach. The boys absolutely loved it! When I put Dallon down to bed that night he said "Even though the water was cold, it was still one of the funnest beach days I've ever had." And then he wrote about it in his journal before going to sleep. So... even early in the season there is still plenty of fun to be had at the beach.

Happy Birthday Aaron!

My cute hubby is 32 years old today! We were excited for him to come home from work so we could wish him a happy birthday. (Dallon wants to know why Dad has to work on his birthday. He says that's just wrong.) When he walked in the door from work the boys jumped out from behind the recliner and yelled SURPRISE! -all their idea. They love to make all parties a surprise party. We celebrated with a little "BTS" cake - as per Aaron's request. It's his favorite dessert that I make. We went to dinner at one of Aaron's favorite restaurants, and then he and the boys played video games - and if you know Aaron then you know a night of video games without me getting on him for it, is just about the best fun out there.
