chef's in training

I asked the kids if they would like to start cooking one meal a week. They could pick what it was going to be and help me with the shopping for it at the grocery store. They were so excited. I wish I could get that excited about cooking a meal. The truth is I don't like to cook. But this week this has been fun for all of us. I never realized how wonderful it would be. It has given Aaron and I a chance to teach them how to cook something. It has also made them feel so special as they have served everyone the dinner they have made. This is just our first week but I will definately continue to do this during the summer. It's really positive. Keep watching for more pics in the kitchen in the following weeks. I'm sure I'll post them.
Dallon chose to grill hamburgers. He was trained on the grill by none other than his Dad - the best grill chef in all of Texas.
Dallon brought the burgers back into the house so we could sit down to eat.  He said... "Look Mom, I'm carrying this plate like a chef."
Dawson was so proud of his pizza when he pulled it out of the oven. After all of the compliments he received at the table he realized there was an opportunity to cash in. He let us all know that the next pizza will be $4.00. I don't think so.

That is so CUTE! You are such a great Mom! You can totally see how happy your boys are. You and Aaron are doing a great job!

I see that you're a night owl too. I think it's the only time that we Mom's can get anything done.

Dawson is hilarious! I bet you guys are laughing all the time with him. I am loving your pictures. Easton is getting so big, he is so cute sitting up! I really can't wait to snuggle him!

Looks like fun! We do this in my family, too. I figure I'm not waiting around for a daughter to help me, as you well know what I mean, so I'll have the boys help. Just think how happy their future brides will be.

I don't know if you would remember me, but this is Shawn (Busch) Lalliss. I graduated from Uintah High in '94. I found your blog through Heather Barnes' blog. You have such a cute family. I have a blog as well, but it is private. If you'd like to read it please send me your e-mail address to buschbaby02@msn.com and I'll send you an invite. I love staying in touch with blogs and it is fun to see what everyone is up to. Take care!

What a great idea! I might have to try doing this. The only problem is that Mike cooks about 75% of all our meals so I'll have to ask him if he wants to try it.

Those pictures are awesome. Dawson is quite the entreprenuer. He's going to be very successful. Tell Dallon and Dawson that I want them to cook for me while they're in UT. My mouth is watering from the pictures.

Uncle Landon,

Dawson says... "yeah! If you want the food you have to pay". Dallon says... "sure! What do you want?"
