Go Patriots!

Dallon just finished up his first season playing with his new middle school team, the Patriots.  It was so fun to watch his team spirit grow as the season progressed.  When summer came to an end Dallon was dreading school.  I tried to get him excited about going back to school by talking about football and how it would be fun to be a part of the team and make new friends... it didn't work.  April and May of last year as the new kid in middle school were really rough.  He had no friends and hated it.  He missed everything he had in San Antonio.  During the summer we were very involved in church activities and he was getting to know the boys his age.  I was hopeful that those new friendships would help him get thru the next school year.  When school started Dallon was quickly taken in by some awesome boys in our ward that he had gotten to know over the summertime thru the young mens / scouting program.  Two of these boys were also on the football team with Dallon too.  He was excited about having friends to sit with at lunch.  And football was much more fun knowing a couple of the boys on the team.  Those friendships continued to grow throughout the season and Dallon's school spirit did too!  I can't tell you how exciting it was to see him be excited about school, about football, about new friends.  It was like a big weight was lifted for me.  My heart has worried about Dallon so much since making the move.  He was so unhappy and I hoped and prayed he would get thru it and be happy again.  I know he will be ok now.  He has friends here now.  He is hanging out with them on the weekends and having fun.  They are good kids from church and I am so grateful.

His 2 good friends here...  #18 Caleb, and #5 Ben (both pictured above with Dallon)

I am so happy for Dallon that he has finally adjusted. Now I hope you can find a home so that he won't have to switch schools again.
