We had a bowling party for Dawson's 6th birthday. (Our boys don't get to have birthday parties with friends every year so it was really exciting for him and something he really looked forward to). He invited 5 friends and they were all able to come. Dawson chose a superman theme for the party. I decided to try and make a superman cake. What was I thinking? It was my hardest cake to date. I'm never choosing a cake with a facial features again... it was very challenging. I was up until 2:30 in the morning making it the night before the party. I'll admit, at times I wanted to pull my hair out. But when it was done, I was really glad I'd made it. Dawson really liked it and thought I was pretty cool for making it. That's all that matters to me. At the bowling alley we were surprised to find out we'd scheduled the party during cosmic bowl. The disco balls were spinning, there was fun music and music videos on three large screens, and everything glowed in the dark. It really added to the fun. We ate pizza, popcorn, and then Dawson's friends spoiled him rotten with presents. On the drive home, Dawson said... "I want my birthday party to be bowling every year!" I guess it was a huge hit!

Adorable! And the cake looks great Jaim. You are the master cake maker. How will I ever be able to keep up with you when I have my own kids. Miss you sis!
Your cakes put mine to shame! You are such a talented person and a wonderful mom!
Gosh Jaimie, I wish you two were my parents. The boys get to do the neatest things for their birhdays. If you ever get tired of the photography business, you could always go into the cake making business and make quite a bundle. Great job!!!!
i love how small the bowling balls make the kids look. what a fun party. i must say your cakes are the best...of course!
Seriously, are you going to open a cake shoppe soon? Don't you love that I have so many awesome ideas for you! You're just so talented!
I'm glad the party was a success! Dawson is a lucky boy!
Holy Cow that cake looks hard! What a great mom to do that. I never do so my boys expect no such thing!!!

What a great Party!
Hey Jaimie. My mom was telling me that the housing market in Texas is pretty goo now, compared to the ridiculous cost of living here in Las Vegas. Anyway, I'd like to talk with you more about where you live and where Marcie and your dad live. My hubby and I are just looking around. Email me when you get a chance... becca_sweetgirl04@yahoo.com
