When we asked Dawson what he wanted to do for his birthday he said all he wanted to do was have a party with some friends. He didn't care what we did or where we went if he could just have a few friends. We could tell it was really important to him, so we did just that. We invited 5 friends to our home to celebrate with us on his birthday. A fun backyard party at our home! It was the perfect way to celebrate his 7th birthday!

When Dawson came home from school he found me putting up the finishing touches to my back yard decorations. I think it turned out pretty good. He was very excited.

Who doesn't love a piniata? And can you tell that Dawson's favorite cartoon is Spongebob?

Plankton Dogs at their best.
Aaron was a huge help the day of the party. Not only did he make a mean Krabby Patty and plankton dog, but he took a couple hours off in the morning (which was totally unexpected) to help run around and pick up a few things still needed. It was so appreciated and the party wouldn't have been such a success without him.

All the kids loved the trampoline! I had a couple different games planned to play. And we did get a chance to play them, but it was hard to pull them away from the trampoline.
Dinner was one of the highlights of the party! "Welcome to the Krusty Krab," we told them. Here they were all seated at the table and their server, Dallon took all their orders. We had one of the best grill chef's in all of San Antonio working the grill that day... none other than Daddy Haley. The boys had their choice of Krabby Patties (hamburgers) and Plankton Dogs (hot dots). Also served was Barnacle Boy Chips (pringles). And then to drink... they could choose from Bikini Bottom Brew (kool - aid) or Ocean Water (water bottle). The kids totally soaked it up. They loved it. They said things like, "this is so cool eating at the Krusty Krab". And, my favorite, "this is the best party ever!" Turns out 7 year olds are pretty easy to please.

Dallon was a huge part of the success of the party. Always helping and making it fun for Dawson and his friends. Dallon was very excited about his part as being the server at the Krusty Krab. He had a special notebook and he went around writing each boys order down, giving each of them a number, and delivering the order to the chef.
Dawson eating his Krabby Patty. It wasn't until I went to blog this and was looking at this picture below that I noticed the number Dallon had given him. He had given Dawson number 7 since he was the birthday boy. And he had drawn balloons on it to make it more special that all the others. He had put extra effort on his own to make it fun for Dawson and I just thought it was so sweet.

Dawson chose the spongebob theme and he sure loved his cake. He thought it looked so cool.
I love this boy's expressions!!! He gets so excited and he shows it! Our family gave him the Mario Game for his birthday. It was what he was really hoping for... and he couldn't have been happier to get it!
Now, some about earlier that day. When Dawson woke up he yelled, "Dallon, I'm seven!" He then jumped out of bed and got into the bath. When he got out I told him to put on his robe and then come down stairs to open a present before school. (We usually give the boys a present the morning of their birthdays... always a new shirt to wear on their special day). When he came down the stairs he was wearing his robe and he was beaming!!! He said, "Mom, look how much bigger I am... Now that I am 7 years old I am too big for this robe." It just made his day to think he had grown taller overnight! Ha Ha. I'm sure it didn't happen overnight... but when did that happen? When did he get so tall?
Easton and I had fun working on this while Dawson was at school.
