After Christmas Dallon and Dawson used their Christmas money from Grandma and Nama to buy rollerblades. When Dawson first bought them I don't think he thought he would be able to do it. After owning rollerblades about a week Dawson was feeling pretty good about his new skill. He was bragging himself up. Feeling pretty cool and talking smack to me. Saying… “Are you sure you used to roller blade mom? There is no way you could rollerblade as fast as me.”Then I would comment back about how good I used to be and say things like… “I was a speed skater”… just meaning I could go really fast. (I knew he would like that because he always says he has a speed scooter - it's a scooter that goes real fast). It was obvious he didn't think I could do anything as cool as rollerblade. After going back and forth for days I started to think I was going to have to buy me some blades. So, I did. (My mom used to rollerblade with us kids and I thought she was so cool. I kept thinking about her and how fun she was. I want to be that kind of mom… the fun kind that gets out and plays and acts silly. Who cares if I fall down or look dumb. Let the neighbors laugh right? ha ha). So we went tot the store to buy me a pair of rollerblades. All the boys went with me. You should have seen how excited Dallon and Dawson were that day. We have had so much fun rollerblading together over the last month and a half. I have proven my skating skills to Dawson. Dallon never doubted my talent - sweet boy. Sometimes we just go rollerblade around the neighborhood while Easton naps. Other times we’ve went to the school parking lot. It’s been lots of fun. Every spare second Dawson has he spends rollerblading. He has almost worn his wheels down to nothing in just a month.
At Dallon's basketball games the warm up is an hour before the game starts. So Dawson and I took our blades and skated outside in that area before the game. That was our favorite place we've bladed so far. We are definitely going to do that again. We got these two pics that day. Easton actually took this one of our feet for us. Dawson would skate with me every day if I could.

It's official. You are the best mom EVER!!! How fun. Your boys will always remember that. So tell me... when your mom went rollerblading with you, what did she wear? I'm picturing black running tights, a wig, a headband, a fur coat, and sunglasses with the tag still hanging from the nose bridge. Ahhhh, miss her!!!! Miss you BOTH!!!

Well Jaimie, I never went rollerblading with the kids, but I did teach them how to ice skate. Anyway, it looks like you are all having way too much fun. Only 4 more weeks and I will be there to witness it in person :).
