I got a sewing machine for Christmas. It was a total surprise. I used to sew years ago... but it's been a long time, so I'll have some learning to do. I went to my first sewing class last night (3 classes came with the machine). I learned how to thread the machine, the bobbin, and figured out the basics of using my machine. I tried out several different stitches. That's right... I'm a beginner. But I'm excited to learn. And hope that sometime soon I'll be making some fun things. I want to find some fun fabrics. Anyone have some favorite sites you shop at online for neat fabrics?

sew excited

Jaimie, how fun! Craig surprised me with my first machine at Christmas many years ago, and I'm still using it. I don't usually shop fabric online, but some cute prints I want to try are from heatherbaileystore.com. Kind of pricey, though. Good luck, and show us what you make.
That is exciting! My mom brought me her old sewing machine. I have been learning too. I have really enjoyed it!
