Power of Prayer
We were all busy getting things done today and Dawson was very bored. Aaron and Dallon were busy making pencils for his school business, and I was busy feeding Easton, doing laundry, etc. Dawson kept asking Aaron if he could play with his neighbor friends. Aaron kept on saying no. But this kid is relentless when it comes to asking to play with friends. Finally, it seemed Dawson had given up and he walked off into the other room. About a minute later, Dawson walked back into the kitchen and asked Aaron again. "Can I please play with friends?" This time Aaron, in total frustration, said yes. (just to get him out of our hair - I mean this kid was driving us all nuts) Then Dawson replied... "Yes!!! I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to make Dad say yes and it worked." We laughed so hard. We had no idea he'd been in the other room praying.
He went and knocked on the neighbors door. I guess they weren't home. Dawson came back inside and said, "I said two prayers that they would come home but I guess Heavenly Father can only answer one question a day."
Later, I overheard Dawson say this to Dallon. "Dallon you should say a prayer that you won't have to take a nap. It worked for me with friends."

his hospital gown

Here are a couple pics of Easton in his hospital gown before he went back to have the bronchoscopy and laryngoscopy done yesterday. We came home from the hospital last night and Easton did well. The procedure did give us more information (we know he has mild trachea malaysia) but we don't have all the answers yet. We'll see another specialist and have an MRI done soon.Thursday, May 22, 2008
5 weeks of wheezing and meds
Easton has been wheezing for 5 weeks today. It is a very audible wheeze. I know I posted all about his bronchialitis back in April. Well, after weeks of breathing treatments it may not be bronchialitis after all. He has been on lots of different meds and breathing treatments. Seen the pediatrician tons of times. Some weeks 2 to 3 times. We went to a specialist last thursday. He had x-rays taken and he also felt strongly that Easton needed to have a procedure done - a bronchoscopy and laryngoscopy. We are having that done in the hospital tomorrow. (he'll be under anesthesia) Of course, I'm a little nervous tonight. Just worrying about my baby. I'm sure everything will go alright. I hope we get some answers tomorrow - as far as what is causing this wheezing. Tuesday, May 20, 2008

camping
At the top of Enchanted Rock.
It rained really hard the first day. But it didn't slow the kids down.We love camping. And yes... we camp in tents. It's so fun! We had three camp sites and three tents for the 13 of us. Enchanted Rock was so beautiful. We biked, played in the rain, climbed trees, played croquet, hiked enchanted rock, caught tadpoles, roasted marshmellows, made smores, played horseshoes, went on climbing expeditions, and stayed up late talking around the campfire. We had a great campfire - thanks to Jaron for that. It's not easy to start a fire after a big rain storm when all your wood is wet. The first day was a little crazy at camp. There was a huge rain storm that hit before camp was totally set up. So everyone was drenched and a lot of our things were wet too... sleeping bags, pillows, suitcases, etc. But the kids loved all the water to play in. The squirrels and racoons were totally into our food. We thought we had come prepared to keep them out. The squirrels were busted eating a hole through a rubbermaid tote. And the cupcakes Em brought in a metal pan with a lid... oh yeah - they ate those too. The racoons broke into a cooler and ate over a dozen of our eggs we had planned to have for breakfast too. And to top things off our next door neighbors at the campsite were 4 lesbians with 5 dogs. ha ha. It started off a little bit rocky but it ended up being the best time. I love camping - getting outdoors, spending time doing things together, and seeing new places. Where should we go next year guys? Jaron and Em you better start planning your trip back for the family camping trip next year. It would not be the same without you.

best money ever spent
This $20 toy is the best money we've ever spent. We've had it for 9 years now. We first bought it for Dallon when he was 3 months old. We used it when Dawson was a baby too. And now, we've pulled it out from storage for Easton. Each one of them have absolutely loved it! Dallon and Dawson have recently discovered that there is a whole other level of fun that this toy provides. They play track meet. It is their hurdle. They practice their run and jump - good form is very important. Another reason I think they love this toy... it attracts the paparazzi, (the paparazzi is me - but I think you all knew that). This toy entertains all our kids for hours each week. If Easton isn't under it then Dallon and Dawson are jumping over it. This past weekend Aaron and I slept in late and the older boys had been up for hours alone. Track meet time. When we came down stairs Dawson immediately took us to the toy. It was broken. He let us know that he didn't do it. It was just broken when he woke up. hmmm. I don't know about that. One of the bars was totally snapped in half. Anyway, it's taped back together with packaging tape and still being used today.
Dallon at five months old.
Dawson at three months old.
Easton at four months old.

Yay! My sister is getting married.
So... a week and a half ago my sister got engaged! It's been all I can do to not blog about this sooner. But, since it's really her news I held back until now. We are so excited for her. She found a really great guy!
Yesterday we were driving in the car and everyone was talking about how Jenna is getting married. Dawson says: "Mom... so they are gonna kiss??? But we won't see that!" (keep in mind he closes his eyes anytime someone kisses on t.v. - kissing is totally discusting) I said, we might see kissing outside the temple on their wedding day because they are so in love. He said: "well, I don't want to see that."
