What's Cooking?

A couple months ago I started having the boys help me cook.   I don't love to cook but I do have fun when they are in the kitchen with me. They love choosing what to make and helping to make it.  They are always so proud of their work.  Here are a few of the things we've made together over the last month or two.

The boys love to help make Calzones.  This is something I never make alone. They just beg to jump in.
Dawson made sheperd's pie and it was delicious.  One of Aaron's favorite meals so he made a big fuss and Dawson loved that.
I taught Dallon how to make one of our family favorites...  augratin potatoes. They rock.

(I got this recipe from Jen Rouska years ago.  Thanks Jen.  This is definately a favorite...  I make them all the time!)

That is so fun!! I was just taking pics of Kade last night in the kitchen, he is taking cooking this year (9th grade) and is loving cooking. He had to get a hat for class and insisted on a chef hat he told me that all the kids in the class thinks his food is better because he has a cool hat!! LOL he is so funny!! Wish you were closer I would let your kids bring in meals everynight:)!! I am glad you like the recipe, I don't even remember giving it to you!! Bon Appetite!!

My little guy has come running in the kitchen since he was about 2, whenever he hears the mixer turn on. Lately, he has been making his fancy dishes with his "secret ingredient" I love cooking with my kids.

Hey, so you really need to post that recipe on your blog! That is cute that the boys get so into it! You are a good mom. We are lucky if we eat more than cereal for dinner! I definetly did not get Amber and Stef's "Martha" gene!
